Chapter 12

***Junior and Muffin***

It had been about three weeks since Junior beat Muffin’s ass for going to Baptiste and jumping Shondra. He hadn’t been back to her house since beating on her and she was growing worried that she really fucked up this time. He was justified for flipping on her but he didn’t have to stay away so long. He hadn’t even called her. She explained to him that the only reason she went over there was because she was worried he didn’t return any of her pages. He didn’t go for it and beat her like a runaway slave, then left. She was sick without him and wanted him to come back to her.

The realest thing about Muffin was that she was true to her feelings for Junior. She couldn’t figure out why she was so sprung on him but it was an emotion she couldn’t seem to get under control. The thought of him being with Shondra had her incensed, although she knew she was a fixture in his life before they ever started their relationship.

In the beginning, she actually thought she could handle the situation because he spent so much time with her and she became comfortable with the routine of him sleeping with her most nights. It was her inexperienced mind that led her to believe Shondra was no longer his girlfriend and that she had stolen the role of first lady. But when she ear hustled that day on the phone and he left her to go to Shondra, she temporarily lost her bearings because he never returned. She was willing to do whatever it took to eliminate Shondra from his life and proved it willingly and without any regard for the outcome. However, instead of taking Shondra out of the picture, she assisted in making the bond between them tighter.

She lay in her bed and pulled the covers to her chin and turned sideways. She tried to go to sleep but the more she thought about Junior, the more depressed she became. It was her hope that he was just punishing her to let her know he wouldn’t tolerate any more of her violations of Shondra. That was her hope.
